ASMR is a tool that I use in my practice to help with stress and with grounding. It stands for autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) and describes a tingling sensation that usually begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine. Slime videos on social media are full of ASMR content. I started to really understand ASMR through my work with Karen Robinovitz. In 2019 Karen and her business partner, Sara Schiller launched the first slime institute in Manhattan called Sloomoo Institute. Karen is an accomplished entrepreneur, author, and thought leader she started the first talent management agency for influencers named Digital Brand Architects. She used her creative genius to co-found Sloomoo, which now has locations all over the United States.
Sloomoo advocates for mental health initiatives and for neurodiversity in the workplace. They foster an inclusive environment and champion using play for trauma recovery. On the Vault, Karen discusses her own history of trauma and how she overcame many things in order to help others to heal through the power of play.
